“Honey Bees – Show me the honey”
Presenter: Christopher Lewis, Beekeeper and Certified Professional Horticulturist
Location: Home of Doris Dixon, hospitality: Fran Usher & Rosa Wallach
3809 East West Highway, Chevy Chase, Maryland
We will sample honey from the local hives of our presenter longtime beekeeper, Chris Lewis, and learn about landscaping, pollination and how honey bees help maintain the balance in nature. Honey bees are not native to North America but since Colonists brought them from Europe beginning in the 1620s as a source of wax and sugar, these efficient pollinators have been integral to our environment.
