Program Meeting: 10:00 am
1) First Vice President Donna Roberts will introduce meeting presenter Sara Marlo, Director of the United States National Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. Location: home of Donna Roberts, 9413 Brooke Drive Bethesda, MD. *Based on the weather the meeting may be on Zoom. Members will be provided updates.
2) Presentation – Tuesday, February 17, 2026 10:00am. National Cemeteries - A Sacred Place of Peace and Remembrance with Sara Marlo, Director of the Baltimore National Cemetery. Donna Roberts home, Bethesda, Maryland. A fascinating and in-depth presentation on preserving and supporting dignified, historic environments while balancing commemorative design with horticulture for Arlington Cemetery, Point Lookout Confederate Cemetery, and other historic sites such as Congressional Cemetery.
****There will be a business meeting immediately after the program presentation (in person or on Zoom weather dependent)
Business Meeting:
3) President’s welcome.
4) Thank you to First Vice President Donna Roberts, Winkie Crigler for arranging today’s meeting.
5) Call for a motion to approve the minutes from our January 20, 2026 meeting.
6) Treasurer’s Report, Winkie Crigler. Call for a motion to approve report.
7) Membership – Rosa Wallach, Membership Chair update on nominations of new members.
8) March Program – March 17, 2026 10:00am, Doris Dixon home, Chevy Chase, Maryland. Honey Bees – Show Me the Honey. Presenter Christopher Lewis has been a beekeeper for over 15 years and will discuss landscaping and bees. Honeybees are among the most efficient pollinators on earth. They help maintain the balance in our environment – and let’s not forgot their delicious gift of honey! Bees have been on planet earth for more than 100 million years. They have been an integral to our species ever since.
9) April Program – Tuesday, April 28, 2026 10:00am Oak Spring Field Trip to the renowned gardens and estate of the late Bunny Mellon, Upperville, Virginia. Need to know information about logics, food and key dates will be provided by Donna.
